IFG is partnering with a non-profit client near O'Hare airport looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. Reporting to the VP Finance with a dotted line to the CFO, this role will be mainly responsible for the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process including the preparation of journal entries, cash management, budgeting/forecasting, customer invoicing, and account recs.
They offer 5 working days a month to be at home, otherwise you're in the office collaborating with the team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, including accruals.
- Manage banking and cash activities to include monthly reconciliations.
- Prepare account reconciliations and reviews to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare the monthly financial statements and reports.
- Review program financials for appropriate revenue recognition.
- Analyze financial information and present insights to leadership and internal stakeholders, including making informed recommendations based on results and trends.
- Prepare and review invoices, including monthly grant invoicing.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports specifically tailored for funders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to meet reporting deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Accounting or Master in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
- Possess a valis CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license.
- Experience in the Healthcare industry or Not-for-Profit industry preferred
