Our client, a leading provider in the environmental services industry, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant for their growing team.
About the Role: Senior Accountant
This role offers the opportunity to be a key contributor on a variety of initiatives, including supporting acquisitions, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, compiling financial reports, and assisting with special projects as needed. The Senior Accountant applies broad accounting expertise to provide support across multiple areas of the business.
This role will play an active part in shaping processes, leading change, and fostering collaboration across teams while maintaining transparency and accountability. It is a highly visible position that supports the business by delivering reliable and timely financial insights, helping stakeholders make informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently complete tasks required for the general ledger close at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting cycles
- Ensure the accuracy of accounting records by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
- Review financial reports and prepare supporting analyses
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on an ongoing basis
- Maintain and reconcile subsidiary accounts by verifying, posting, and resolving discrepancies
- Assist with various financial reporting requirements
- Compile and analyze inventory values and changes, including regular communication with field personnel responsible for physical counts
- Support compliance with internal controls and maintain related documentation
- Collaborate with external and internal auditors during audits and testing of controls
- Analyze business trends and provide financial insights to management and other leaders
- Identify and implement process improvements to shorten the close cycle while maintaining accuracy and quality
- Complete ad-hoc projects and assignments as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, with a preference for manufacturing or environmental service industries
