IFG is partnering with a high growth, start up company in Chicago, looking for an Accounting Manager. The company currently has 21 locations, but looking to expand to 25 by year end, and 40-50 by the end of 2026. Reporting to a Senior Accounting Manager, this role will have the authority to lead the month-end close, do automation/process improvements, manage the audit, and even get involved in M&A!

They are hybrid 3-4 days a week in the downtown Chicago office. 

The compensation range is $105K – $125K base plus 15-20% bonus plus equity!

Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end close process, including preparation and review of complex account reconciliations such as revenue, expenses, and payroll; as well as prepare and review journal entries including goodwill, revenue, and intercompany activity.
  • Analyze the financial statements to identify variances, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules, managing audit requests, and serving as a key contact throughout the audit process.
  • Partner with leadership on automation and process design and implement scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; an advanced degree a plus
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, public accounting, PE-backed company, and/or multi-entity, multi-location environment experience a plus
  • Active CPA license (active or in progress) strongly preferred
  • Proficient in general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, and AP/AR operations
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and experience implementing them
