Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager oversees all accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of 10+ full- and limited-service properties, managing a team of 2–3 property accountants and partnering closely with on-site operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and develop property accountants; delegate work, manage deadlines, and conduct performance reviews.

  • Oversee accurate and timely month-end close and financial reporting (GAAP or tax basis), including debt service and capital transactions.

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure proper segregation of duties.

  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting weekly cash needs, processing payables, payroll, and debt service.

  • Perform treasury functions, including initiating electronic payments and managing online banking activity.

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and filing of agency tax reports; coordinate tax audits and resolve findings.

  • Partner with operations to improve financial processes and drive efficiency.

  • Review and analyze lease transactions for proper accounting treatment.

  • Track capital assets, renovation projects, and depreciation.

  • Support annual audits and assist in budget preparation.

  • Prepare financial, statistical, and operational reports.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Supervisory accounting experience in the hospitality industry required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
