Cash Accounting, Supervisor
Like a fast-paced job, well it is time to oversees the cash accounting function for our retail client. The position is a working supervisor role with a team of direct reports.
You will be the key point of contact with the store, loss prevention, and key vendors. This high profile role means you will provides oversight of daily bank-to-store POS (point of sale) reconciliation and works closely with store managers and the Revenue Accounting team to address any issues.
Responsibilities
- Supervise processes and analysis of cash activities – including cash management/prioritization, etc.
- Drives continuous improvement and performance management activities to ensure team development.
- Designs, documents, and implements new financial controls, policies, and procedures within areas of responsibility in response to changing regulations and/or business practices.
- Supervises the day-to-day accounting recording of business transactions, journal entry review/approval, account analyses, and reconciliations.
- Engage outsource provider to perform hi-volume, manual, transactional work.
- Key contact for cash and credit card-related vendors.
- Works closely with Operations.
- Provide ad hoc reporting to Operations, Treasury, IT, and other teams as requested.
- Assist in month-end close, prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis, and provide support to financial audit requests.
- Collaborate with IT as necessary to ensure any system changes are addressed in a timely manner to prevent operational issues.
- Provides direction for coordination and completion of audits (External Audit, bank audit, SOC1, PCI, other compliance) that are required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience.
- 2-3 years of Supervisory experience
- Offshore management experience is a plus.
- Experience processing high volumes of data and prioritizing work.
- Advanced Computer Skills: MS Office, MS Excel, and financial reporting systems.
