Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns for partnerships (Form 1065), S corporations (Form 1120-S), C corporations (Form 1120), individuals (Form 1040), and other entity types as assigned.
- Lead tax engagements from planning through completion, ensuring work is delivered accurately, on time, and within budget.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff and senior associates by providing coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Research complex tax issues and develop practical tax planning strategies that help clients achieve their financial and business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by identifying opportunities to improve tax efficiency and deliver additional value-added services.
- Develop a deep understanding of each client's business, industry, operations, and long-term goals to provide strategic guidance.
- Manage engagement scheduling, staffing, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize team productivity and client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, and professional referral sources, including financial institutions and other advisors.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new services and expanding existing client relationships.
- Participate in special projects and other client engagements as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Master's degree in Taxation (MST) preferred.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
- Five or more years of progressive public accounting experience, including experience in a Tax Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations for individuals and business entities.
- Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing multiple client engagements.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with mentoring, coaching, and developing accounting professionals.
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and budget expectations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client and office locations as needed.
