Tax Partner
IFG’s public accounting firm client has recently grown significantly from a standalone office to multiple locations. In this time the staff has more than quadrupled. They have a diverse client base, revenue between $1M – $500M with a national footprint. This growth has led to a need. They are looking for a professional to head up their tax practice. Ideally it would be a senior manager at a larger or mid-size firm looking to make the jump to becoming an equity or income partner sooner, but it could also be a sole practitioner or smaller firm looking to “merge” in. The focus for the role would be the right fit culturally and personality-wise. There is a balance between technical acumen and entrepreneurial spirit that is vital to success in this role. On any given day as a leader at a small company you can empty the dishwasher or make firm-wide tax policy decisions. You need to be able to think in the big picture, but also be humble enough to roll up your sleeves and get work done.

Description:
IFG’s public accounting firm client seeks to find a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Tax Partner to join their practice and lead the buildout of a scalable tax practice. This entails understanding and servicing the current client base, business development to add additional clients and value, and hiring and managing a team to assist in the execution of deliverables. The Tax Partner should bring with them business acumen as well as managerial excellence. They should be a builder and a strategic thinker.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for engagement planning and execution
- Work cross-functionally and with clients on business structuring, mergers & acquisitions, and miscellaneous tax advisory projects
- Responsible for tax returns issuance and ensuring compliance with professional guidelines
- Prepare and review partnership, corporation and high-net-worth individuals state and federal income tax returns
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Perform tax planning strategies and consultations for high-net-worth individuals and businesses.
- Actively manage all client contacts to establish and maintain expectations, provide satisfactory execution, and ensure all deadlines are met
- Act as client contact for all queries related to tax issues
- Work with other partners to ensure client receives full service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Masters in Taxation preferred
- 10+ years in progressive public accounting firm
- CPA required
- Ability to lead and manage multiple client engagements in primarily the real estate and construction space
- A builder and a leader who wants to establish and own a scaling tax practice
