IFG US is partnering with a global financial services company that is looking to hire a Senior Accountant. This role will be responsible for fund accounting and Net Asset Value oversight for a portfolio of investments in the US and UK. The portfolio spans from listed and OTC derivatives to digital assets, and other investment strategies, allowing you to work across multiple currencies, jurisdictions, fund structures, and instrument types.
This is a high visibility, hands-on role with real ownership over a defined set of funds.
They are in the office 3 days a week.
Compensation range is $120K – $150K base depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. You will also be eligible for a performance based bonus.
Responsibilities
- Review and oversee monthly and quarterly NAV packages prepared by third-party fund administrators, investigating and resolving any discrepancies prior to final approval.
- Produce monthly and quarterly investor reports, performance analyses, management reporting packages, and other ad-hoc reporting as required.
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and related disclosures under US GAAP and/or IFRS, while serving as a primary day-to-day liaison with external auditors throughout the year-end audit process.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, expense allocations, and management and performance fee calculations, including equalization, series accounting, and crystallization methodologies where applicable.
- Review investor-level allocations, subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, and other capital activity, as well as partner capital statements.
- Assist with the valuation and accounting of less-liquid and Level 3 investments, including gathering pricing support, maintaining valuation documentation, and assessing appropriate fair value hierarchy classifications.
- Maintain and enhance accounting process documentation while identifying opportunities to streamline and automate the close process as the business and platform continue to grow.
- Act as a key day-to-day contact for fund administrators and external auditors, while collaborating with Back Office, Treasury, Investor Relations, Legal, Business Management, and Investment teams to support business growth and provide ad-hoc analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Master's degree and/or CPA highly preferred
- 4+ years of hedge fund accounting experience gained at a fund administrator, investment manager, of fund
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations across a portfolio of funds, including reconciliations, fee calculations, capital allocations, and investor reporting.
- Experience with digital asset accounting is highly preferred, particularly exposure to derivatives such as perpetual contracts, listed and OTC options, on-chain reconciliations, staking activities, and digital asset valuation.
- Practical knowledge of derivative accounting, including the treatment of margin, collateral, and settlement activity.
- Experience working with alternative investment strategies is preferred.
- Strong understanding of various fund structures, including master-feeder, standalone, and parallel funds, as well as management company entities across US and offshore/UK jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS as they apply to investment companies, including ASC 946 or comparable accounting guidance.
- Experience with multi-currency accounting, including foreign exchange translation and related accounting considerations.
