Corporate Tax Manager

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Tax, the Corporate Tax Manager is responsible for managing tax compliance, reporting, and planning initiatives for a multi-entity organization. This role oversees tax filings, ensures the accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax returns, supports financial reporting, and manages correspondence with regulatory agencies.

The Corporate Tax Manager collaborates closely with Accounting, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into financial reporting, business operations, and strategic planning. Additional responsibilities include supporting quarterly tax estimates, conducting tax research, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws, filing deadlines, extensions, and estimated tax payment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities.
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Prepare tax-related financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Coordinate responses to tax notices, audits, and correspondence with regulatory agencies.
  • Support quarterly tax estimates and annual tax planning initiatives.
  • Conduct tax research and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Legal teams to incorporate tax considerations into financial reporting and business decisions.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes as needed.
  • Monitor tax filing deadlines, extensions, and estimated tax payments to maintain compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead projects related to tax compliance and reporting initiatives.
  • Mentor and support team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience with emphasis on tax compliance, financial reporting, audit preparation, and tax planning.
  • Experience preparing consolidated financial statements and elimination entries.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Prior leadership or people management experience preferred.
  • Experience with tax preparation software and accounting systems (ERP platforms, QuickBooks, NetSuite, CCH Axcess Tax, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
