Sr Lead Cash Applications Specialist

Location: Deerfield, Illinois Type: Contract Job #28332 Primary Purpose: This senior accounts receivable role involves working with minimal supervision to apply and balance customer payments to open receivables on complex accounts. The position also includes managing the deduction process, performing research, resolving issues where possible, or escalating for further resolution. Strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and a focus on accuracy are essential for success in this role. Major Responsibilities: Independently manage large, complex accounts to apply and balance payments to open receivables in the system, ensuring accurate and timely application based on remittance details. Collaborate with Sales and Credit departments to research and resolve customer account discrepancies and payment issues. Oversee the deduction process by analyzing customer accounts for short payments, ensuring proper recording of deductions, and working with credit and customer service teams for resolution. Respond to customer inquiries related to accounts receivable, including requests for reissued statements, credit memos, invoices, and adjustments. Provide accurate and timely information to internal and external customers, ensuring clear communication and assisting with inquiries or concerns. Support the supervisor in training and guiding staff, and step into the supervisor role when needed. Evaluate and test system updates to ensure accuracy and functionality of procedures. Assist with SOX testing and the auditing process, both internal and external. Contribute to process improvements by evaluating existing workflows and recommending changes. Participate in relevant training to ensure continued professional development and effectiveness in the role. Demonstrate commitment to core organizational values and standards. Skills/Knowledge Required: Advanced proficiency in Excel for downloading and analyzing remittance information, managing account details, and maintaining shared spreadsheets to track discrepancies. High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payment applications and account analysis. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve account payment issues. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Exceptional customer service skills and a professional approach to managing customer relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic to intermediate proficiency in Adobe software. Education and Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or related fields, with at least two years of experience in managing deductions (seven years preferred). Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

Location: Deerfield, Illinois Type: Direct Hire Job #28310 Salary: $150,000 IFG’s client, a growing manufacturing company in the North suburbs, is looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting. This is a newly created and highly visible position reporting directly to the VP Corporate Controller.  This role will focus on: US Payroll function. Oversight of corporate departmental SG&A spending, budgets and forecasts. Phased integration of the Accounts Payable function in the US under common leadership. Corporate accounting activities – Corp SG&A, OneStream, M&A, etc. Implement, maintain and strengthen relevant internal controls, SOP’s & documentation. Supervise, mentor, and lead direct reports and their teams This is a key position in evolving disparate, small-company accounting operations into a cohesive, modern, technology-enabled enterprise. In addition to the core focus on consolidations and reporting, this position will support the Corporate Controller and CFO in areas such as policy and internal controls, budgeting, acquisition integration, financial modeling, pro-forma adjustments, and other activities as assigned. This position will supervise 2-3 direct reports and a total team of 5-10 professionals. As part of the corporate function, this position will also regularly coordinate and direct relevant work of controller groups at each of the Company’s operating units. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, related graduate degree preferred, CPA highly preferred. 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate level accounting operations. Experience with Payroll and Accounts Payable required Additional preferred qualifications: Experience working within a complex, global organization with multiple ERP’s and foreign currencies.
