Senior Tax Accountant Responsibilities Preparation and review of Federal, state and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships Assist in preparation of tax provisions according to ASC 740 Analyze and process financial accounting data for preparation of tax returns, estimated tax calculations and financial forecasts Assist in gathering information and responding to notices from various tax authorities; assist in tax audits Gather financial information and prepare tax filings for various reporting requirements (Form 1099-MISC, Form 1099- DIV etc.) Ensure compliance-related deadlines such as extensions, tax estimate requirements, tax return filings etc. are met Understand and research basic to moderately complex tax concepts and their application; communicate results with supervisor Assist with special projects, including planning initiatives, process improvements etc. Analyze and interpret changes to Federal and state tax laws Participate in trade, industry or professional groups including leadership positions providing the opportunity for professional growth Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field CPA Certification a plus 3 plus years’ experience in Federal and state taxation including the preparation and review of Federal and state tax returns for corporations and partnerships (real estate industry knowledge preferred but not required)   Apply Now

Senior Accountant

Location: Oak Brook, IL Type: Direct Hire Job #28261 Salary: $90,000 IFG's retail client is looking for a strong Senior Accountant to bring their inventory experience over to their nationwide brand.  If you have, or wanted to manage, this is the role for you as did will oversee the off-shore team. In addition to journal entries, month end, reconciliations, you will get exposure to moderately complex Inventory analyses to summarize current and projected financial position for Inventory/Rental. They are also open to recommends methods and procedures to improve accounting processes. Responsible for ensuring accurate general ledger and related financial statements and managerial reports. Responsibilities: Prepare/record store-level journals related to inventory and book rental. Produces all shrink-related journal entries, including accruals and reserves. Recommends changes to the policy and procedures and updates as necessary based on system or company procedural changes. Identify areas in the department that can be moved to the offshore team and/or automated/streamlined. Calculates year-end reserves (LIFO, Excess, and Obsolesces, etc..) by compiling and analyzing system data. Reconcile all assigned balance sheet accounts and perform financial statement variance analysis. Analyzes Markup/Markdowns journal entries, identifies inaccuracies, and processes corrections. Develop Received Not Invoiced Aging reporting for management. Responsible for extensive data analysis of the Received Not Invoiced reports. Responsible for analyzing the data submitted through the Inventory Adjustment Request data. Analyzes shrink (discrepancies w/inventory counts versus the general ledger) changes daily and determines the cause of significant changes. Review store-level shrink results to identify stores that require in-depth analysis, identify any causes of shrink, and process corrections. Validate various aspects of shrinkage system calculations. Ad-hoc analysis and flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed or as streamlined/automated/offshored current accountability. Train/Oversee the offshore team. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent. 5-7 years of general accounting experience: month-end close, reconciliations, variance analysis. Advanced knowledge of Excel. Experience reviewing and interpreting contracts is a plus. Experience with improving processes, Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Access highly preferred.
