Staff Accountant

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois Type: Direct Hire Job #28469 Salary: $70,000 IFG US is partnering with a client in search of a Staff Accountant. This position will report to the Head of Finance and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing core accounting functions for two entities. The role ensures the integrity of accounting information by accurately recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Responsibilities Review and process vendor invoices; ensure appropriate documentation and authorization are secured. Enter customer orders into Katana and QuickBooks Online systems. Generate accurate customer invoices based on shipments and contractual terms. Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable sub-ledgers. Answer and resolve inquiries from vendors and customers in a prompt and professional manner. Prepare and process payments to vendors on scheduled due dates. Monitor and manage credit limits, past-due accounts, and collection activities. Reconcile inventory between sub-ledger and general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Analyze product costing and profitability. Prepare monthly commission reports for the sales team. Record general ledger journal entries and perform monthly reconciliations. Generate accurate and timely financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and variance reports. Assist in preparing the annual budget and provide supporting documentation. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company operations. Perform other accounting-related tasks assigned by the Head of Finance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required. 1-3 years of general accounting experience preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.). Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and ERP platforms (Katana experience preferred). Understanding of GAAP accounting principles. Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Apply Now
