Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances, and prepare and adjust workpapers based on clients’ trial balances.
- Researches accounting issues.
- Identify potential problem areas in engagements and discuss them with the engagement supervisor.
- Participate in the engagement planning process.
- Perform other accounting, auditing, and consulting duties as needed, as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Assume full responsibility (under supervision) for preparing compiled and reviewed financial statements.
- Assist with more complex segments of audit and accounting engagements.
- Draft financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
- Become proficient in preparing financial statements using the firm’s software programs.
- Train and supervise staff auditors and accountants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; advanced degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience required; public accounting background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS); experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Viewpoint, and Foundations.
- CPA license or actively working toward certification.
