Controller
Location: Villa Park, Illinois Type: Direct Hire Job #28714 Salary: $130,000 IFG-US is partnering with a well-established privately held manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Controller. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being involved in both strategic finance and day-to-day accounting operations. The company is seeking a finance leader who can grow into a senior executive role over the next few years. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, this individual will play a key role in supporting multiple legal entities while helping modernize financial processes and strengthen internal controls. What You’ll Do: Oversee the full accounting cycle for multiple affiliated entities. Direct month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Manage the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP. Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and fixed assets. Maintain accurate inventory valuation and product costing while partnering closely with operations. Prepare monthly financial statements and provide analysis of business performance and key variances. Lead the annual budgeting process and assist with rolling forecasts. Monitor profitability, margins, and manufacturing costs through regular reporting and analysis. Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls. Evaluate capital investments and provide financial analysis to support operational decisions. Develop, mentor, and lead the accounting team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement. Assist leadership with special projects and business initiatives as needed. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA designation is a plus. Ten or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience. At least three years managing accounting personnel. Prior experience within a manufacturing environment, inventory accounting and standard or job costing is a plus. Experience overseeing accounting for multiple entities or business units. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks; experience with manufacturing ERP systems is beneficial. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a lean organization. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Apply Now
